We did have a small problem with a smoke detector in our room but at checkout when we reported it an ample adjustment was made to our bill without having to be requested. Plenty of options in the buffet plus fruit, some pastries and yogurt. ![]() How can you go wrong with an omelet? Yes the bacon was not on the buffet line but back with the omelet chef but when we asked for bacon several slices was provided. Last trip I had a BBQ bacon cheeseburger with fries and my wife just had a salad. There’s a large menu with appetizers, sandwiches some entrees and salads. ![]() The restaurant is open from 5pm to 10pm and we have eaten there twice during the reception hours. Different kinds of potato chips, dips cheese a couple of other items. The sufficient light for reading but it would be nice to have some brighter lighting. The only negative on the rooms is that they could use more light. It would be nice to see some updated furnishings but there’s nothing has been worn or dirty. Both stays the rooms, common areas and elevators have been clean. The suites are large with both the living room and bedroom having plenty of room. The front desk staff have been personable and professional both at check in and check out. We have been satisfied with the hotel, staff and services both times. I know there are some restaurants and gas stations nearby along Cleveland Ave. It does sit in a small office park near a residential neighborhood. We have stayed at this hotel twice the first time in June of 22 and the most recent in May of 23. ![]() Once you set up your new Android phone and log in with your Gmail address, it will ask you to recover the backed data. ![]() You only have to enable Google Backup and Sync on your old device. When you turn on your new device, you will need to set up the device, including providing your email address. Google Backup and Sync is a general method that works on most Android phones. Here are two methods you can use for general and specific brands. When you decide to switch your Android phone, you must transfer your data from the old device to the new one. Transferring Data From an Old Android to a New One But in any case, it is a handy way to share Android data. Note that the process is quite complicated and lengthy, especially for beginners.Īlso, not many Android phones support the NFC feature. This method is particularly useful for sending larger files rather quickly. Using NFC or Near Field Communication is another simple way to transfer data from an old Android phone to a new one. However, both Android devices should be nearby for data transfer. ![]() You can also use the feature to transfer applications from one Android phone to another. You can transfer photos, videos, documents, web links, music, etc., with the feature of Nearby Share. The technology working behind Nearby Share is Bluetooth and WiFi. Google developed the app, and it is a very convenient utility tool for Android users. Nearby Share is an in-built feature in Android phones to transfer data across devices in close proximity. For instance, transferring a few photos or videos from the gallery should be fine. However, Transferring files between Android phones and Bluetooth is very slow, so it's a preferable option for sharing smaller files. This feature is built-in on every Android phone anyone can use it for free. One of the easiest methods to share files between any two Android devices is via Bluetooth.

Carbon is a component element in the large majority of all chemical compounds, with about two hundred million examples having been described in the published chemical literature. It bonds readily with other small atoms, including other carbon atoms, and is capable of forming multiple stable covalent bonds with suitable multivalent atoms. The allotropes of carbon include graphite, one of the softest known substances, and diamond, the hardest naturally occurring substance. Newer work indicates that the melting point of diamond (top-right curve) does not go above about 9000 K. Carbon forms a vast number of compounds, with about two hundred million having been described and indexed and yet that number is but a fraction of the number of theoretically possible compounds under standard conditions.Ĭharacteristics Theoretically predicted phase diagram of carbon, from 1989. The largest sources of inorganic carbon are limestones, dolomites and carbon dioxide, but significant quantities occur in organic deposits of coal, peat, oil, and methane clathrates. The most common oxidation state of carbon in inorganic compounds is +4, while +2 is found in carbon monoxide and transition metal carbonyl complexes. They are chemically resistant and require high temperature to react even with oxygen. All carbon allotropes are solids under normal conditions, with graphite being the most thermodynamically stable form at standard temperature and pressure. ![]() Under normal conditions, diamond, carbon nanotubes, and graphene have the highest thermal conductivities of all known materials. ![]() Graphite is a good electrical conductor while diamond has a low electrical conductivity. Graphite is soft enough to form a streak on paper (hence its name, from the Greek verb "γράφειν" which means "to write"), while diamond is the hardest naturally occurring material known. For example, graphite is opaque and black, while diamond is highly transparent. The physical properties of carbon vary widely with the allotropic form. Well-known allotropes include graphite, diamond, amorphous carbon, and fullerenes. The atoms of carbon can bond together in diverse ways, resulting in various allotropes of carbon. It is the second most abundant element in the human body by mass (about 18.5%) after oxygen. Carbon's abundance, its unique diversity of organic compounds, and its unusual ability to form polymers at the temperatures commonly encountered on Earth, enables this element to serve as a common element of all known life. Ĭarbon is the 15th most abundant element in the Earth's crust, and the fourth most abundant element in the universe by mass after hydrogen, helium, and oxygen. Carbon is one of the few elements known since antiquity. Three isotopes occur naturally, 12C and 13C being stable, while 14C is a radionuclide, decaying with a half-life of about 5,730 years. ![]() Carbon makes up about 0.025 percent of Earth's crust. It belongs to group 14 of the periodic table. It is nonmetallic and tetravalent-its atom making four electrons available to form covalent chemical bonds. −4, −3, −2, −1, 0, +1, +2, +3, +4 (a mildly acidic oxide)Ĭarbon (from Latin carbo 'coal') is a chemical element with the symbol C and atomic number 6. Skim reading is one common adaptive reading behaviour that is adopted in order to make reading on the Web more manageable for the reader. As a result of this, readers will often not consider all text to be of equal importance, depending on their task. Another difference is the fact that there is so much information on the Web, that it is often not considered viable to read all available information for comprehension. Hyperlinks are visually salient and have been shown to anchor attention during reading on the Web. One specific difference is the presence of hyperlinks, words that enable users to navigate to a different webpage when clicked. We suggest readers are less able to establish the importance of a sentence when skim reading, even though importance could have been assessed by information that would be fairly easy to extract (i.e. When skim reading, however, importance ratings had a lesser impact on online reading behaviour than when reading for comprehension. ![]() In Experiment 2, higher importance scores resulted in longer sentence reading times, measured as fixation durations. Long sentences with more links were rated as more important regardless of their position on the page. ![]() It was also found that short sentences with more links were rated as more important, but only when they were presented at the top of the page. ![]() ![]() Results from Experiment 1 show readers rated sentences without hyperlinks as being of less importance than sentences that did feature hyperlinks, and this effect is larger when sentences are lower on the page. Reading times of sentences were analysed in relation to the type of task and the importance ratings from Experiment 1. In Experiment 2, a different set of participants read these passages while their eye movements were tracked, with the task being either reading for comprehension or skim reading. In Experiment 1, participants rated the importance of sentences across passages of Wikipedia text. Across two experiments, we examine how hyperlinks influence perceived importance of sentences and how perceived importance in turn affects reading behaviour. It has previously been shown that readers spend a great deal of time skim reading on the Web and that this type of reading can affect comprehension of text. |
